A Good Foundation

Are you wanting to switch up your makeup a bit?

I can't help but hear the course to Eric Church's new song "My Foundations Solid"play in my head. Granted I know it has nothing to do with makeup, but I am here to help you find a solid foundation (see, what I did there)!

Foundations:

I have SO many to recommend, these are all products I have used! I will classify them in the easiest way possible but keep in mind, most of them are pretty universal!

Aging skin:

Are you are at that point where you are wanting more than just coverage, when it comes to your foundation? Do you wish you had a product that did it ALL?

Does just that! It is a full coverage CC and packed with skin loving ingredients! The anti-aging serum has collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamins and antioxidants! Plus, it contains SPF 50! So your days of worrying about whether your face is protected from the sun, are over!

Dry skin:

Maybe you need something that will keep you moisturized ALL day? Or something more hydrating for the cooler months?

It reads as a matte finish but in my opinion it it a luminous finish. It provides full coverage but also looks very lightweight on the skin! A little goes a long way, it only takes a dime-sized drop to cover my entire face (scars and all)!

It is free of Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates. The company is also vegan and cruelty free!

Normal Skin/Everyone:

This foundation will give you a beautiful radiant finish. It is very lightweight but still delivers full coverage that will last throughout the day! I can’t say enough good things about it! It hides all the things! The formula contains niacinamide, which is used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and even out skin tone! WIN, WIN! It is free of mineral oil, and fragrances so it pairs well with just about anyone!

Oily skin/Acne prone:

Imagine its summer, your makeup is sweating off of your face? Have you been there? I have!

Let this foundation come to your rescue! It is a liquid that drys to a powder like finish (it really does) and stays there! It packs a bunch, as it is loaded with great ingredients, such as clay to control oil throughout the day, while helping clear your skin! It also contains antioxidants to nourish your complexion. It delivers, but it will cost you!

Humidity:

Maybe it’s because I live in Florida and 99% of the year it is so humid! Are you needing a foundation that will help fight that never ending battle?

It is a demi-matte liquid that offers up a beautiful natural finish that will leave you illuminated in all the good ways! It has buildable coverage and a lightweight feel!

Powder:

Its funny how we evolve over time. When I was a teenager, I always used bare minerals, before switching to liquid foundation as an adult. Once I made the switch, I never looked back! Until...I found the magic of powder foundations!

Wander Cosmetics, blows me away with everything in their line. But this compact powder is on another level! It will make your skin feel like silk. Magic, i’m telling ya! It is a super fine powder that provides great coverage without looking cakey! It contains aloe leaf extract which helps moisturize the skin while hibiscus flower evens out the texture! Yes, Yes, and Yes!

Setting Powder:

Get the job done, and set your foundation to make it last longer! My two favorites are from Cover FX and Lawless. The Hourglass one is fabulous too, but I found the container frustrating.

Concealer:

Clinique has a great 24 hour concealer. I also have used the Hourglass stick foundation as a concealer, but it is a great full coverage foundation in itself. Milk makes a very functional one that is easy to apply. My current obsession however, is from Wander they make a dual ended concealer-which gives me options, what girl doesn't love options?!

I always apply my concealer after my foundation, (but before my setting powder) in problem areas or in highlight areas to give myself some extra dimension.

Stay Beautiful!
